About Me

Erin Dawkins
When I’m not running and mom-ing, I am writing. I live in Michigan with my husband, daughter, son, and two rescue mutts. I have an M.A. in English from Wayne State University with a specialty in creative writing. During my masters program, I was awarded the Louise Heck Rabi Award in Dramatic Writing and the Tompkins Award for Drama. My short stories have been published by Gwynnd Mercy Press, Wayne State University, Red Tricycle, Flash Fiction Magazine, Half and One, Wild Greens Magazine, Five Minute Lit, Sky Island Journal and forthcoming in Still Here Magazine and Whisper House Press. In 2025, I received an Author’s Fellowship from the Martha’s Vineyard Institute of Creative Writing. I am a proud member of PEN America, the Detroit Writing Room, the Horror Writers Association, and Michigan Writers.

I was (and will always be!) a proud Ambassador for the Detroit Free Press Marathon 2019-2021! It’s a race that I love surrounded by the best running community!
