Hello, again.

It’s been a while.

I always tell people I have a blog. I direct smaller literary magazines here when I submit stories. But, it wasn’t until I recently paid for the renewal of this blog that I realized how long it was until I actually posted something. Hello, again. I’ve missed you.

My quiet moments lately have been filled with stories. My thoughts don’t stop when I dream, when I drive, and when I run. Especially when I run. Winter running usually brings dark mornings and evenings, so I don’t wear headphones. Instead, I think about character descriptions, dialogues, memorable plot points that would make someone want to keep reading a story.

I’m not sure if it’s feeling motivated at work or teaching a writing workshop this year, but these thoughts are hard to turn off. I’ve been dedicating time each day to writing. Some of it’s good, some of it’s not good, and some of it is typed out, read, and immediately deleted.

Malcom Gladwell said “ten thousand hours is the magic number of greatness.” I’m not there yet, but I’m working toward it. More to come.
